No – rates will never get to zero– the recent Federal Reserve rate cut was to the Federal Funds rate, which is the rate banks pay to borrower money
overnight not to mortgage rate - mortgage rates are driven by many different factors. Independent Bank offers a variety of rate lock options to help you maximize opportunities in the current market. We can’t predict where rates will go but we will do our best to help guide you so you can make the right decision for your particular situation. Trying to predict when rates will hit “bottom” can be risky – rates tend to rise quickly and drop slowly. Let’s discuss your situation to devise an approach that works best for you.
