The Building Process

The Eight Steps to Building Your New Home

Norfolk Simplifies the Building Process

Your home should reflect who you are, how you live and what you care about. It should be yours - and your alone . We understand this and it's why we leave all the important choices up to you. Here is our Eight Step stress free process for ensuring that you absolutely love your new home.

1

Choose Your Community and Meet with our New Home Sales Agent

Norfolk Homes builds single family homes, townhomes, and condominiums throughout Washtenaw, Jackson and Livingston Counties.  Meet with the New Home Sales Agent for the community you choose to discuss exactly what you want and need in your new home.  We listen to what matters to you in your home and community and will create a  "wish List" for your dream home.

2

Select Your Home Plan and Home Site

Once your wish list is complete, you're ready to select your home plan and homesite.  Our New Home Sales Agent will guide you through the home plans available in your community and review all available homesites.  Choose your home plan and reserve your home site.

3

Obtain a Pre-Qualification Letter From Our Preferred Lender

You do not need to get a construction loan when building a home in on one of our communities!  You do need to get a pre-qualification letter from our preferred lender who have a variety of loan options available.    Our New Home Sales Agent will provide you with the details for your community.

4

Tour The Design Studio and Complete Your Pricing

Take a Preview Tour of our  Design Studio and meet with our interior designer, April Gizicki,  to complete option pricing for your new home.

5

Sign a Purchase and Building Agreement

Now you're ready to build! You'll meet with your New Home Sales Agent to review and complete the option pricing.  Once this is all in order you will sign a purchase agreement to have Norfolk build your home.  A building deposit, held in escrow at the title company, is required at contract signing.

6

Make Final Selections of Features, Colors and Finishes

Meet with our Norfolk Designer, April Gizicki, to begin the exciting process of personalizing all of your features, colors and finishes!  This is what makes your home truly yours and one of a kind! The result is a home that’s exactly right for you—a home that meets your needs and enhances your life in every way.

7

Watch Your Home Rise From the Ground Up

You will meet with our construction team prior to the commencement of construction and several times during construction. Throughout the construction of your home, you will communicate and work closely with your New Home Sales Agent and your Project Manager every step of the way.

8

Put Your Keys In The Front Door

Once your new home is complete, you’ll walk through the home with a Pro Home Warranty Representative to wrap up the details.  All that’s left to do is to move in, enjoy your new home and live your dream!
