Buying a Home Virtually

November 3, 2021

The pandemic forced builders all over the country to shift their priorities and processes for the safety of their team, homeowners and potential buyers. Norfolk Homes adapted as needed, and some of those solutions will stick around long after things return to normal—including the ability to buy a home completely online.

Before the pandemic, it was much rarer to hear about homeowners purchasing their homes before ever seeing it—but this concept became reality for so many people in the past year and a half. Norfolk Homes had plenty of experience selling Ann Arbor area homes to long-distance buyers with an accessible, virtual experience prior to 2020—but our team really upped their game for customers amid the pandemic, becoming experts at selling virtually.

Find what fits your needs

When starting the search for a new-construction home, sometimes you just need to talk through the needs and wants of your next space. There’s the non-negotiables, like number of bedrooms, garage size, quality craftsmanship and energy efficiency—but then there’s the bonuses, like a home office, multi-purpose spaces, finished basements, and luxurious baths.  When you speak with Norfolk Homes New Home Specialists they can talk through the floor plan features and options available and assist you in designing the perfect home for your family.

Tour homes and neighborhoods

A flat outline of a floor plan can’t accurately depict the flow between rooms or display the details that make such a difference in our homes, so Norfolk Homes has been using the latest technology to showcase our offerings. 3D Matterport tours and professional photos of our homes assist buyers in getting a true feel for the function and form of a home. Community drone videos highlight the layout, surrounding terrain and progress in a community.

Utilizing Facetime or Zoom, our Sales Team can tour buyers through our model homes, walk home-sites and homes under construction to further enhance the virtual experience.  Our Design Team can give you a virtual tour of our design Studio.  Many buyers have completed the entire design selection process remotely!

The community you choose is just as important as the floor plan, which is why our team can also send videos, photos or conduct video chats to show off the neighborhood.

Conduct the process virtually

After signing the purchase agreement via DocuSign , our team will keep an open line of communication with you throughout the process of building your new-construction home. Progress walkthroughs, personalization, finish selections and even closing can all happen partially or completely virtually. No matter how the home buying journey will look for you, we’re happy to meet you exactly where you’re at.

Whether you’re moving from across the city or across the world, the team at Norfolk Homes wants your home buying experience to be as stress-free as possible. Our business was built on the philosophy of pouring our heart and soul into every home—and that applies even more to ones the owners can’t check up on in person.

Contact Norfolk Homes today to start the virtual home buying process. For those on a tighter timeline, check out our inventory of quick move-in options in the greater Ann Arbor area.

We moved back to the area and after touring several new home communities we purchased a quick move-in home from Norfolk Homes in Arlington Woods. We immediately felt at home here. Arlington Woods is very peaceful and serene, and we’ve loved getting to know our neighbors. We highly recommend this builder!
