Jackson Parade of Homes for Norfolk Homes

Do you ever drive by new homes and wonder what’s inside? For 3 days this summer, you can take your time exploring the best of new construction. Find your new home inspiration along the Summer Parade of Homes in Jackson, MI—which happens to include 2 of Norfolk Homes’ showplace homes.

Every summer, the Home Builders Association of Jackson (HBAJ) maps out a parade route of brand new homes—some of them just barely finished—with the help of local homebuilders. Norfolk Homes is proudly showcasing 2 of our new homes.

From Friday, July 26, through Sunday, July 28, 10 new homes will be open to the public. For a $5 fee, you can wander through each one. Take a close look at the latest styles, colors, and finishes. Ask about the construction methods and energy efficient features. It’s a great way to learn more about the ways that new construction presents a distinct advantage over resale homes, including those that were built in the past 5 years.

Our first home along the parade route is in Sandhill Estates, our community of single-family homes in Grass Lake.

Sandhill Estates is a growing community in Grass Lake, just 13 miles from Jackson and less than a mile from I-94. If you want convenient access to Jackson or Ann Arbor, Grass Lake is an ideal location! We chose a quiet location with a rural atmosphere. It’s so peaceful and scenic here that you might forget you’re close to all the urban and suburban amenities you need and want.

We’re offering half-acre homesites, so you can spread out at home at Sandhill Estates. Some of the lots offer walk-out basements, so if you act soon, you can be of the homeowners with this benefit. The new homes we’re building here will include municipal water as well as sewer.

Our Parade of Homes entry for Sandhill Estates is located at 11298 Sandhill Drive. We chose The Hampshire floor plan, which provides 2,062 square feet of interior living space. If you’ve been curious about Modern Farmhouse design, come and take a look at this beautiful example. The 2-story home incorporates the essential elements of Modern Farmhouse architectural style, inside and out.

The first floor incorporates the open floor plan that families love! The kitchen, family room, and dining room come together in one large space. You’ll have a view of all the happenings here, whether you’re busy in the kitchen or relaxing by the fireplace (which as a beautiful, custom slate surround and white mantle). The kitchen’s center island is sized to expand your workspace and simplify the movement from one kitchen zone to another. The home features granite countertops and a stainless steel appliance package. All the kitchen drawers and cabinets doors feature the soft-close hardware too. This home has hardwood flooring throughout the first floor, including the study, with ceramic tile in the laundry room, mudroom, and bathrooms.

The plan includes 42-inch Merillat cabinets. We took advantage of our options by adding cubbies in the mudroom, which connects the kitchen with the 2-car garage.

The Hampshire’s 3 bedrooms are all situated on the second floor, along with 2 of the 2.5 baths. Be sure to check out the master suite’s bathroom. The dual vanities and tiled shower present an eye-catching feature. Newly designed by Todd Hallett of TK Designs, the laundry room is located on the second floor, so you don’t have to carry those loads up and down the stairs.

Additional details include oil-rubbed bronze fixtures throughout this stunning home, 3-panel Craftsman-style interior doors, and 9-foot poured basement walls that allow for 8-foot ceiling height.

The second Parade home is located at 713 Wellington Lane in the award-winning Jackson community of Oak Grove (“Best New Model Home”and “Best Detached Home”). This home recently sold, but is still available to tour during the Parade of Homes. While you’re there, drive around the neighborhood. We have only 3 homesites remaining before Oak Grove is complete. If you like what you see in this scenic community, come talk to us. We’re about to start construction of a detached ranch on 1 of the homesites, continuing the popular Craftsman architecture that is prevalent here. For either of the other available lots in Oak Grove, you can take your pick of single-level floor plans, ranging from 1,395 to 1,812 square feet.

Do you like what you see in Jackson? Come and explore our other communities here. We’re just getting started on the second phase of The Preserve at Magnolia Park. This has been a long-awaited launch as families love this distinctive community in the acclaimed Western School District.

Expand your route on the Parade of Homes to visit Norfolk Homes’ Jackson condominium communities, too. We have condo homes available in StoneRidge Creek and The Glen at Magnolia Park, starting as low as $157,365.

If a new home is even remotely in your future, plan to tour the Parade of Homes through Jackson, from July 26 to 28.

The opportunities are limited, so please contact Norfolk Homes so you don’t miss out.

We had the pleasure of working with Lisa while purchasing a Norfolk Home. Her friendly, knowledgeable, "go beyond the norm" assistance was truly appreciated.
