The Parade of Homes Leads Right to Our Door (4 of Them, Actually)

June 19, 2019

Once every year, the Builders & Remodelers Association of Greater Ann Arbor (BRAG) sponsors a special event that opens up new homes for tours. From June 21 to 23, the Parade of Homes leads right to our door (4 of them, actually). Take this opportunity to see some inspiring showcase homes, in 4 different Norfolk Homes’ communities.

Even if you’re just contemplating buying a new home, plan to tour the homes. It’s a rare chance to wander through a new home and get a close look at the latest in home design trends and construction.

Here’s a little preview of what’s waiting for you in Norfolk Homes’ entries.

4454 Lake Vista Drive is The Preserve of Dexter shows off Norfolk Homes’ Hampton floor plan—3,129 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. This 2-story home will be move-in ready in July, but right now you can see how our design group has styled it. The Hampton’s layout will appeal to the active family. The open floor plan welcomes everyone into the main living area. Watch TV, relax, get together, sit at the breakfast bar for a snack or together in the dining nook. Meal prep is a joy for the busy chef, with plenty of storage, an oversized center island, and a walk-in pantry. You also have to see the family foyer, a large room that enters from the garage. Keep the clutter and mess contained here, thanks to a hall bench and walk-in closet, with enough room to add a drop zone.

The first floor also includes a private study off the foyer, across from the walk-in hall closet and powder room.

The second-floor master suite presents the luxury you’ve earned: a large bedroom, massive walk-in closet, and a beautifully detailed master bath with dual vanities, a soaking tub, walk-in shower, and private water closet. If you’re looking for style and space, plan your visit to 4454 Lake Vista Drive in Dexter during the BRAG Parade of Homes!

5301 Marshland Court is also nearing completion in Mystic Ridge, a growing community in Hamburg Township, near Brighton, Ann Arbor, and Dexter, where students have the added advantage of an outstanding school system. The tree-lined streets will guide you to The Davenport design. The Urban Farmhouse style is truly eye-catching, and complements the rural environment.

The home is comfortably sized with 1,919 square feet, spread over 2 floors. The second floor houses the master suite, 2 other bedrooms, and a second full bath.

Downstairs, let the living begin! The open concept brings the main area together, a large space that gives you so much room for creative layout. The kitchen serves up one of the “wow” moments for this house. Plenty of cabinets, a large center island with a breakfast bar, and pantry, with the laundry room and powder room just steps away.

The Davenport also includes a large room off the foyer, and also connected to the main living area. How can you use one more space in your home? A formal living room, study, playroom, home office, library?

The smart use of space and creative design—inside and out—come together with perfect balance here.

For your next stop on the Parade of Homes tour, head over to Westchester Farms in Chelsea. 102 Campolina Street starts with eye-catching curb appeal. The first phase of our new community is selling quickly, with just a few homesites left. We built this Yorkshire floor plan, a Craftsman elevation, one of today’s most popular styles. With 2,736 square feet gives you ample living space, including 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, plus an expansive open concept.

Are you looking for your dream kitchen? The Yorkshire might be the one. The oversized center island adds valuable workspace and includes a breakfast bar that easily fits 4 people. You’ll also appreciate the added size of the walk-in pantry, and the adjacent mudroom.

This design features so many more conveniences! Look at the foyer—a grand space that will inspire your creative decorating touches. There’s also a den located off the foyer. How will you use this bonus space? The only difficult part is narrowing down your choices.

The second floor is designed with the same smart use of every square foot. The master suite has a large walk-in closet. The master bath is also sized for comfort. The plan features dual vanities and a beautiful Grande Shower with dual shower heads.

Yes, this home has something for everyone to love. We also incorporated a finished basement in this showcase home. Head downstairs to check out the rec room, bar, and bathroom. With the additional bedroom on this level, it could be a great living space for teenagers and college students.

Cornwell Farms is a distinctive community of executive homes that is just beginning in Ann Arbor. We’ve planned only 27 homes to be built in this tranquil area. The new model home at 1002 Cornwell Street is a show-stopper. The Canterbury plan presents 3,120 square feet, with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and a 3-car garage. Wander through this model home to fully appreciate the creativity and smart layout.

The foyer guides you to the main living area, but be sure to stop at the study at the front of this home. With the adjacent powder room, this space could also be a guest room. Move along to the openness of the main living area. The great room, dining area, and center island kitchen present as one space where you can gather, relax, and entertain without walls to close you in. The great room’s vaulted ceiling expands the airy feeling here.

Just off the kitchen is a functional center.  This area is also accessible from the garage entrance, which has its own foyer, walk-in closet, “drop zone”, massive walk-in pantry, and the laundry room.

The first-floor owner’s suite provides a welcome retreat in this home, set off a bit with a vestibule entrance. The bedroom is accentuated with a tray ceiling. We’ve incorporated a dressing room-sized walk-in closet. The master bathroom is equally generous in size and features—walk-in shower, dual but separate vanities, private water closet, linen closet, and yet another walk-in closet.

Upstairs, each of the 3 bedrooms includes its own walk-in closet. The full bath features dual vanities, so sharing is easier.

Realtors and lenders can get a sneak preview of the Canterbury model home at Cornwell Farms on June 20. Then, the home will be open to the public for the 3-day Parade of Homes.

We look forward to showing off our showcase homes. If you can’t make it the weekend of June 21-23, please contact Norfolk Homes to schedule a personal tour. And be sure to see what’s happening in our other communities, located in some of the most beautiful areas, Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, and Jackson. Whether you’re in the market (now or later) for a new construction single-family home or townhome, Norfolk Homes wants to be part of your journey to home ownership.
